FAQs - Energy Supply

Frequently asked questions

We’ve simplified the details so you can focus on your business.

What does an energy broker do?

An energy broker acts as an intermediary between energy suppliers and customers. Instead of dealing with multiple suppliers on your own, we handle the heavy lifting of sourcing quotes and negotiating competitive rates on your behalf. By simplifying complex contract terms, uncovering hidden costs, and aligning price structures with your goals, we help you find the most competitive energy rates available while saving you time and money.

How can your service help me save money?

By leveraging our industry knowledge and broad supplier network, we can negotiate better terms and identify cost-saving opportunities you may not get by going directly to a supplier.

Why should I use an energy broker instead of going directly to a supplier?

When you go directly to a supplier, you only see their rate, not what’s available across the broader market. As an energy broker, we work on your behalf to compare pricing and plans from a wide network of trusted suppliers to make sure you’re getting the most competitive deal. We provide unbiased advice and ensure you're making a true apples-to-apples comparison, helping you identify hidden charges, and negotiate terms that align with your business goals. Our expertise helps you secure the most cost-effective and strategic energy solution without the hassle of navigating it all yourself. Our goal is to save you time, money, and stress.

How does Avion Energy get paid?

Avion Energy earns its compensation through a broker fee commission paid directly by the energy supplier once a customer signs a contract. Here's how it works:
• No upfront costs: You don’t pay Avion Energy anything out of pocket.
• No hidden fees: There are no surprise charges later on.
• Supplier-funded compensation: The energy supplier pays Avion a commission for bringing them a customer, similar to how insurance or mortgage brokers are compensated.
• Transparent pricing: The rates you’re shown already include the broker fee, so what you see is what you pay.
This model aligns Avion’s interests with yours—we’re incentivized to find you competitive rates and help you secure the best contract terms.

Do I have to switch suppliers to work with you?

Not necessarily. If you're already with a supplier offering a competitive rate, we'll tell you. Our goal is to help you make the most informed decision whether that means switching or staying with your current provider. We only recommend a switch if it’s truly in your best interest.

Can you help both residential and commercial accounts?

We specialize in helping commercial customers. Our solutions are tailored to the unique needs of businesses looking to manage energy costs effectively.

Who do I contact if there is a problem with my energy supply?

If you experience a power outage or gas issue, you should contact your local utility company directly. They are responsible for maintaining the physical infrastructure. We’re happy to help point you in the right direction if you're unsure who to call.

Do you offer ongoing support after I sign a contract?

Yes, we’re here to support you every step of the way, even after your contract is signed. If you have any questions or run into issues, you can always reach out to us! As your contract nears its end, we will notify you, so you’ll have plenty of time to review your options and avoid rolling over into expensive default rates and auto renewals. Our goal is to help you stay informed and in control of your energy costs at all times.

Can you help with energy procurement for multiple sites?

Absolutely. We specialize in multi-site energy procurement and can streamline contracts, consolidate billing options, and negotiate group rates tailored to your business.

Can you help me understand my energy bill?

Yes. We can walk you through your energy bill line by line to explain charges, usage trends, and any fees. Understanding your bill is key to identifying savings opportunities.

Do you recommend fixed or variable rate contracts?

It depends on your risk tolerance, market conditions, and energy usage patterns. Fixed-rate contracts offer price stability, while variable rates may offer potential savings but come with more risk. We’ll help you weigh the pros and cons of your situation to identify the best product solution.

Can you provide green or renewable energy options?

Yes. We offer access to renewable energy plans, including 100% green electricity and carbon-neutral gas options. If sustainability is a priority for your business, we can help you meet your goals.

Will my energy be interrupted during the switch?

No. Switching suppliers does not affect your energy supply. The infrastructure remains the same, so there’s no interruption in service; there is just a change in who manages your billing and contract.

Are you licensed or accredited?

Yes. We are a fully licensed and accredited energy broker. We follow strict compliance and ethical standards to ensure transparency, fairness, and trust in all our client relationships.

What information do you need from me to provide a quote?

We typically need: a recent copy of your energy bill, a signed Letter of Authorization (LOA) so we can obtain your usage data, and your current contract end date. This allows us to obtain customized quotes for your account and identify the best available options.
